Liam Cooper confident Leeds’ win against Bristol City can boost their promotion charge

& # 39; Hopefully this will be a turning point & # 39 ;: Liam Cooper trusts that Leeds & # 39; victory over Bristol City can increase their promotional costs

  • Liam Cooper is hopeful Leeds & # 39; victory against Bristol City will give them a big boost
  • Leeds put an end to a three-game winless run because they achieved a 1-0 victory
  • Cooper praised goalkeeper Kiko Casilla, who was heavily criticized for the late

Maybe Leeds United aren do not fall apart.

This dominant victory will certainly bring confidence to Marcelo Bielsa after their recent horror run.

A total loss of confidence in goalkeeper Kiko Casilla under fire? Barely.

 Liam Cooper believes Leeds can continue after returning to winning roads against Bristol City "class =" blkBorder img-share "/> </div>
<p> <noscript> <img id= Liam Cooper believes that Leeds can continue after returning to winning roads against Bristol City

Fear of burnout? You are joking.

A return to the Premier League after an absence of 16 years and a place in the folklore of Elland Road? Bring it on.

At least that was the way Captain Liam Cooper spoke after Leeds abandoned a top six rival with a victory that was much more comfortable than the score suggests.

The 16th minute strike by Luke Ayling, a left-wing finish a short distance against his former club, was enough to clear them three points from third place Fulham with 13 games left.

Without their promotion rivals managed to register a victory, it was an almost perfect day for the side of Bielsa.

 Cooper insists that Leeds should focus on itself rather than worrying about other teams "class =" blkBorder img-share "/> </div>
<p> <noscript> <img id= Cooper insists that Leeds should should focus on themselves instead of worrying about other teams

Asked about the meaning of that three-point cushion, Cooper said, "We don't care what other teams do, we just have to care for ourselves

"Too many people are packed in points and other teams but we always believe in ourselves.

& # 39; We have faith in the way we play and our philosophy, so we just have to keep bickering about the games and being afraid of them every week.

& # 39; The momentum is huge in every competition and you have to go and put together runs.

& # 39; Hopefully this will be a turning point for us and we can start running now. & # 39; Leeds had an 11 point lead over third place in December, but that was completely wiped out in Saturday's game.

Spanish goalkeeper Casilla made countless costly mistakes during that bleak run, but he was a drenched spectator for much of this game because Lee Johnson's side created virtually nothing.

 Kiko Casilla, who has recently received much criticism, kept a clean slate towards Bristol City "class =" blkBorder img-share "/> </div>
<p> <noscript> <img id= Kiko Casilla, who recently received a lot of criticism, kept a clean sheet against Bristol City

The Elland Road crowd supported Casilla everywhere and Cooper added: & I am absolutely happy for Kiko.

& # 39; He has received a baton, but he is a confident boy. That clean sheet was for him today. He deserves it.

& # 39; He never changes the way he plays and he is a great boy. We absolutely buzz for him.

& # 39; We do our work and stay together through thick and thin.

& # 39; We are an honest couple and if one makes a mistake, another bail will be released. That's how it should be. & # 39;

Domestic midfielder Kalvin Phillips returned to the side after banning three games in last week's 1-1 draw in Brentford and his presence has again proved to be crucial.

He led the proceedings against the Robins as Leeds had a 69% possession and 21 shots, but only the Ayling strike to show for it.

Patrick Bamford had rejected a goal due to offside in the first half and Jack Harrison hit the bar late.

Cooper admitted: "I would really like to be zero at some point in the season!

" I suppose it's the Leeds way – we're keeping you on the edge your seat.

& # 39; But the intensity and the will to win in these past two games is incredible.

 Luke Ayling scored but Leeds could have scored more goals as they returned in winning ways "class =" blkBorder img-share "/> </div>
<p> <noscript> <img id= Luke Ayling scored but Leeds could have more goals if they go back to winning ways

& # 39; We need to keep it going now and that is the message to the boys. & # 39; In recent weeks, Leeds has felt a city on the outskirts, while Bielsa's faltered.

There is a desperation to finally return to the top flight and the ride with the white knuckles will only increase in the coming weeks as the run-in approaches.

Cooper was asked about a possible repeat of last season's failed promotion and burnout due to the notoriously debilitating Bielsa regime.

Cooper said: & # 39; To say that we are tired and blowing is nonsense.

& # 39; If you get the chance to get out of this competition, fatigue is nothing.

& # 39; There is so much to play for and to go to the premier League could be a life-changing experience.

& # 39; This club has long been hungry for the highest football for whatever reason.

& # 39; But we have a real chance and we have to hold onto that. It is life-changing and can be incredible for the city and the club.

& # 39; We see the legends plastered over the walls in the club and if we approach it the right way, why can't we? stay with this club forever? We will fight to the end. & # 39;

Bristol City 1-3 Birmingham: Lukas Jutkiewicz scores late goal as promotion chasers slump to defeat

Andreas Weimann spent eight years with Aston Villa at the start of his career so that it would have stung the Austrian To help gift bitter rivals Birmingham City three points this way.

The Bristol City frontman scored the unfortunate own goal which brought their winning run to a halt after the promotion hopefully threw away the perfect start.

Jamie Paterson took advantage of a defensive foul from Birmingham to score within the first minute, but Bristol, who could have moved third in the championship table, strangely ran out of steam.

Scott Hogan equalized Birmingham before the Weimann disaster, and the Lee Johnson side could not deliver the required response, even though there was an hour left.

And Lukas Jutkiewicz made sure that the three points would go back to the second city with his 100th career goal.

] It was an eighth game undefeated in competition and FA Cup for Birmingham, which left their scorching December well behind.

After four consecutive league wins, all with clean sheets, the confidence was sky high the Bristol scores anyway without being offered any gifts.

But Marc Roberts felt generous, his head was not completely switched to the game in the first minute when he hopelessly trailed a back pass to his keeper Lee Camp.

Thanks to Paterson, who had started a forward burst to place Camp. Is a kick under some pressure, but instead Roberts & # 39; assist & # 39 ;, locked the keeper and went home. The clock on the large screens of Ashton Gate reads only 40 seconds.

Paterson watches a player transformed after returning from a loan period in Derby County. After scoring only once for the Rams, he now has three goals in five championship games back in City ed.

It was the perfect start and the home team was in charge of the opening for 20 minutes, encouraged by their noisy vocals in the corner. Weimann sent a volley over the crossbar after a nice long ball from Jack Hunt who got the defensive cold from Birmingham.

But there was an imperceptible and unexpected change in momentum that made Birmingham able to come back strong in the match.

They had a good chance of equalizing when Ivan Sunjic pushed a low cross on the second attempt and the shot by Jude Bellingham on the line was blocked by Ashley Williams.

But halfway through the first half, the visitors reached their level. Gary Gardner jumped on a loose ball in midfield and pecked a searching diagonal wide at Jeremie Bela on the right. Due to the run of Hogan for him, he could only knock against the floor.

Hogan was alert and tapped home at the nearby post, the Aston Villa borrower followed his goal on debut against Nottingham Forest last weekend.

Bristol seemed to withdraw into their shell and Birmingham grew in confidence at the same time. By the time they moved forward just after half an hour, no one in the shut down stadium was surprised.

It was 16-year-old Bellingham who retrieved the ball on the right-hand side and curled it in a cross in front of Hogan's forehead, which had been shot to the front post.

Instead, Weimann, the former Villa player, saw the ball shave off his head, past Bentley and in his own net before he put his head in it, his hands.

But if something Birmingham looked more likely to add a third goal, with Bela firing over and in the end after nice build-up by Kristian Pedersen.

There was finally a bit of impetus from the hosts as we entered the last 20 minutes, with Paterson a free kick 25 meters away right in the wall.

Famara Diedhiou wasted a golden opportunity to go too late and raised his shot over the bar when completely clear due to William & # 39; s damn pass over Birmingham's defense.

But the win was sealed in six seals for two minutes when Jutkiewicz neatly dipped the ball over Camp after Benkovic was unable to handle a long ball, which led to a massive exodus around Ashton Gate.

Chelsea & # 39; ready to take out the loan from Ethan Ampadu & RB Leipzig and send it to Bristol City & # 39; after only five appearances for the Bundesliga leaders and rowing over & # 39; decadent & # 39; haircut of celebrity hairdresser flown in from England

Chelsea are said to be under consideration Ethan Ampadu's loan to Bundesliga leaders RB Leipzig abort to send him to Bristol City.

Ampadu has only played five times for the German club this season and in City there is a vacancy in their midfield after they lost Captain Josh Brownhill to Burnley .

According to Football Insider Chelsea was able to move to send the 19-year-old to the championship on transfer deadline day. The window closes on Friday evening at 11 p.m.

Ampadu was one of the RB Leipzig players who furiously left club chief Ralf Rangnick after flying into a famous barber before their defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt at the weekend.

The Bundesliga title hunters were defeated 2-0 in an unusual defeat and Rangnick, head of sport and development for Red Bull, labeled the actions of the players in question as & # 39; decadent & # 39; in his angry reaction to that.

In the eyes of Rangnick, it is & # 39; not far from the golden steak & # 39; that Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho was criticized for ordering in Dubai two weeks ago.

It was believed that nine players were in the eyes of Rangnick & # 39; s storm when he raised the issue with the media on Tuesday.

& # 39; I would have bet € 100,000 (£ 85,000) that our players would have no ha d a hairdresser who flew in from England to have their hair put in a hotel & # 39 ;, Rangnick said.

& # 39; I had lost that € 100,000 bet. The 2-0 defeat was annoying enough, the story of the hairdresser makes me astonished.

& # 39; That is decadent. & # 39;

Wales International Ampadu would strengthen Lee Johnson & # 39; s push to reach the playoffs.

They currently occupy sixth place in the second layer of England, but are just one point ahead of Preston North End, in the seventh.

England prop Kyle Sinckler to join Bristol from Harlequins next season in £500,000-a-year deal

England prop Kyle Sinckler confirms sensational move from Harlequins to the next season in £ 500,000 a year deal

  • Harlequins could not afford to put England prop Kyle Sinckler on their books
  • Bristol came in for support and will pay him a huge £ 500,000 a year
  • He said: & # 39 There is a plan for success and I look forward to contributing & # 39;
  • New boss Pat Lam added: & # 39; He comes in his peak years as a front rower & # 39;

Kyle Sinckler will be a Bristol player next season with confirmed his sensational switch to the big Bears spending next season at Harlequins.

It was in November that Sportsmail revealed that Quins were struggling to keep Sinckler.

And in December we reported the England tight headrest, 26, signing a huge deal worth £ 500,000 a year – making it one of the most expensive forwards in the country.

<p> <noscript> <img id= The impressive 26-year-old prop will be paid £ 500,000 a year in his new club

Bristol announced that he had agreed to a two-year deal to go west.

Sinckler, who caps 31 England so far and played on the Lions tour 2017 to New Zealand, is Bristol & # 39; s second box-office addition for next year.

They will also have Fijian sensation Semi Radradra on similar money, joining a star-studded cast that includes Charles Piutau, Steven Luatua and Nathan Hughes.

Because they have picked an abundance of players from other clubs where they had not yet been imagined, they have so far managed to stay under the £ 7m-a-year salary.

Sinckler said about the big step: & # 39; The ability to come to Bristol and play under Pat Lam was one that I could not reject.

& # 39; The bears are an ambitious club in the elevator and it was great to visit the city and the amenities that they have. There is a clear plan for long-term success and I look forward to making a contribution.

<p> <noscript> <img id= Sinckler played for England during their sensational race to the World Cup Final last year

I am grateful to Harlequins for everything they have done for me and my career. I want to thank the coaches, fans and my teammates for all their support over the years. & # 39;

For Harlequins, losing Sinckler – who has been with the club since he was 12 – is a huge blow.

Towards the end, after creating a self-bred superstar, Quins could not afford to keep the homesickness whose contract ends this summer.

Bristol now has Sinckler in their books until at least 2022 and revealed that they will also retain All Black John Afoa, 36, for another year.

Director of Rugby Lam said: & Kyle is an excellent player and it is fantastic to bring someone of his international caliber to the bears.

& # 39; He comes in his peak years as a front rower and has a wealth of experience at the highest level. What we really like is Kyle's attitude; he is excited to come to Bristol and to be part of our trip.

"An important part of our vision is to develop our own contingent to become internationals in England. Kyle can give the example of what a young player needs to succeed at the highest level.

& # 39; With John Afoa betting for another season and Kyle coming on board for two, it reinforces the depth of such a key position with two world-class players as we intend to Champions Cup ambitions. & # 39;

Sinckler has had 146 appearances for Harlequins since his professional debut in September 2011 and is part of the current Six Nations team in England.
