I don't think it is because the players are so expensive & Pep Guardiola excludes excessive Manchester City this summer as his first year £ 179m spree as a manager regrets inflation
- ] Pep Guardiola says that Manchester City spending will be much less this summer
- The city spent £ 179 million in Guardiola's first season but has a inflation complained
- Etihad club was hit with a biennial European ban on financial violations
City was hit with a two-year ban on European competition from UEFA last week for alleged breaches of the rules of Financial Fair Play.
When Guardiola first arrived at the club, City spent £ 179 million on players such as Leroy Sane, John Stones and Ilkay Gundogan, but the Spaniard feels a much different story this summer.
Asked by Sky Sports News whether he thinks City & # 39; s summer transfer window will be as busy as when he first joined the Club came, Guardiola said: & I don't think so. I don't think so, because today it's so hard to change players because they're so expensive and it's not easy.
City director Ferran Soriano says that the allegations of financial misconduct are unfounded and that the club is expected to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in an attempt to lift the ban.
Despite the ban, Guardiola recently confirmed his dedication to the club, and said the only way he will leave is if he is fired, even if they were forced to go to League Two as a further punishment.

& # 39; The club must (also) be sustainable, I fully understand and in the situation that we are inside we have to wait (not) anticipate. Our idea now of the situation with Financial Fair Play (is) when we appeal, added the 49-year-old.
& # 39; Now we have to wait. So we are going to play these three months and when the season is over we will see what the situation is. And together with the club we are going to decide what is best – not just for the next year, but for the next two, three, four years for the cub.
City was hit by European football body sanction for allegedly too high sponsorship income in its accounts and in break-even information submitted to UEFA between 2012 and 2016 would be. & # 39; moves away due to the appeal of European football, with stars such as Raheem Sterling linked to movements towards giants Real Madrid or Barcelona.

& # 39; We won the competition four times and were not treated with the same respect & # 39 ;: Raheem Sterling wonders why the stars of Manchester City did not win the PFA Player of the Year prize and says Liverpool players will dominate individual prizes this season
City have won the Premier League title three times in the last six seasons but none of their players have been named PFA players of the year.
Sterling, named PFA Young Player of the Year last year, says that the lack of individual recognition shows that City players have been wrongly overlooked.
& # 39; Especially in the last year in which we have the domestic quadruple including the competition, not to have a player winning PFA Player of the Year actually for himself, & # 39; told Sterling AS .
& # 39; The prize was awarded to a player from Liverpool [Virgil van Dijk] who had a fantastic season, but I also look at previous seasons when Yaya Toure scored 20 goals in midfield and did not win a Player of the Year.
& # 39; Also Sergio Aguero has been at the club for more than seven years and has scored incredible goals during this time, but none of City & # 39; s players have hav and won it.
It is impossible to win the competition four times and none of the players were players of the year. & # 39;
Sterling is also convinced that Liverpool players will enjoy a clean range of individual prizes at the end of the season, but has wondered why that is.
& # 39; So this year, Liverpool wins the competition and a Liverpool player definitely wins the Player of the Year & he said. "We won the competition four times and we were not treated with the same respect.
" The first year we won the competition [under Guardiola]Kevin De Bruyne was incredible and they gave it to another player [N’Golo Kante].
& # 39; Every year we win a big trophy and it is awarded to an opponent. It's things like that that don't depend on us, but we keep going. & # 39;

Chris Smalling was left destroyed after his dog died suddenly with the defender of England suspecting that his pet had eaten rat poison.
The defender of Manchester United currently on loan to Roma, is trying to figure out what killed his dog Miley, who fell ill last month.
Smalling and wife Sam Cook believe that all three animals ate rat poisoning that had been secretly sprayed on the property.
The other two dogs, a Hungarian Vizsla named Ruben and Labrador Summer, were also not well but happily extended. Smalling posted his destruction on the loss of his beloved pet on social media.
& # 39; Now a very, very large part of my heart is missing, & # 39; he said. & # 39; Everyone who knew me and Miley knew that we were inseparable. People often joked as if I had two women in my life.
& # 39; When I first met Miley, I was scared of her. I grew up with many different neighbors with aggressive dogs, thinking that's how all dogs are. Without her I would not have found the connection and compassion that I missed for all animals. I could never have imagined how much impact she would have on my life.
& # 39; You were a special soul and we were truly blessed that you came into our lives. & # 39;
Smalling & # 39; s wife Sam also provided information about what happened to Miley after the dog collapsed after internal bleeding.
When Miley collapsed, the vet found a tumor and placed the internal bleeding that led to her death, but it was not found the problem, & she said.
& # 39; A few days later, Ruben's dog and my mother got sick and, although they were rejected by vets, we realized that they had all eaten rat poison that had been carelessly laid in our garden without being discovered without our knowledge.
& # 39; It is clear that Miley was older and smaller, most affected. Ruben and Summer use medicines and do much better and will fully recover. It is a terrible situation, but we are all doing well and trying to implement the many lessons that this sad situation has brought us.
Sam had written the post in an attempt to alert other pet owners of the potential dangers of their dogs walking around.
England Defender Smalling had a close relationship with his beloved pet and took her with him when he went to eat in restaurants. The 30-year-old also flew the dog to France in 2016 while playing in the euro.
Smalling took Miley to Italy after he had sealed his loan to Roma last summer and had moved to a large old house on the outskirts of town with lots of greenery for the dogs to run around.
The Englishman has long been an advocate of animal rights and beat pet owners in 2019 who left their dogs in the car during the hot summer weather.
Smalling said a video on social media: & # 39; In the time it takes to go into the supermarket for a loaf of bread, your best friend can bake to death. & # 39;
He also expressed his love for dogs last February. & # 39; I think dogs are just so sweet, & # 39; he said. & # 39; The fact that whatever day you have had, you can come home and they are always so happy to see you. They are always there, no matter what. & # 39;
Manchester City & # 39; rent £ 20,000 / day lawyer who helped block Brexit twice & # 39; in an attempt to get their two-year ban on European football thrown out
David Pannick QC is recognized as one of the top British lawyers and was drafted by City to lead their legal battle against UEFA following the decision earlier this month.
In 2016, he successfully represented Mrs. Miller in her legal challenge to prevent Theresa May from bringing Britain out of the European Union without parliamentary permission.
Mr. Pannick, who became Baron Pannick of Radlett in 2008 after he was awarded a life spear, also represented the Brexit activist in September last year when she claimed to the Supreme Court that Boris Johnson had given the Queen illegal advice in his attempt to parliament.
Heads of city hope that he can use his legal expertise to help the club out of trouble after receiving a severe punishment from UEFA. The club has spent £ 20,000 a day to cover Mr. Pinnock's legal costs.
European football was rocked last Friday when the governing body announced that the English club would be banned from the European league for two years and fined € 30 million for & # 39; serious offenses & # 39; "of financial regulations.
The first violation reports that" his sponsorship income in his accounts and in the break-even information provided to Uefa between 2012 and 2016 "was too high, while" did not cooperate in the investigation ".
The city has expressed the intention to challenge the Court of Appeal for Sport (CAS) and hope that the issue can be resolved before the summer.
The ruling leaves the Premier League champions in an ominous position, questioning the future of some of their most important stars.
Manager Pep Guardiola, however, insisted that he remains loyal to the club if their app fails to CAS.
"I am confident that we will play in Europe next season. I'm pretty sure we will defend our position, & Guardiola said before confirming that he will remain as a manager.
"If they don't fire me, I'll stay here more than ever. I want to stay longer than the contract I have. I want to help the club grow and maintain this level for as long as possible. Why should I leave?
& # 39; It's not yet "It's not finished, it's not over yet," Guardiola said. & # 39; You fight whatever happens and the club will do that. There are two sides. The club says it's not true. I love this club. "
Guardiola also broke back to his old employers 'and boys' club, Barcelona, after their president Josep Maria Bartomeu thanked UEFA for continuing with Financial Fair Play penalties.
"If they are happy that we are suspended, I tell the President of Barcelona, give us two calls," the city manager said.
"I immediately ask people what they have done. "Don't talk too loudly Barcelona," that's my advice because everyone is involved in situations. We are appealing and hopefully we can play in the Champions League against Barcelona in the future. "
RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann fears that Manchester City & # 39; juicy & # 39; wants compensation for borrower Angelino as Germans eye permanent transfer
Julian Nagelsmann has warned his RB Leipzig side that they will need a & # 39; juicy & # 39; pay compensation if they have to sign Angelino for a permanent deal from Manchester City .
The German outfit signed Angelino on loan for the rest of the season in January and Nagelsmann wants to make the deal permanent.
Nagelsmann, however, believes that Manchester City will demand a large compensation for the full back because the 23-year-old has made a strong start in Germany .
Nagelsmann, speaking to Kicker said of the Spaniard: & Here he needs many things very different from what he did with Pep Guardiola. He adapts incredibly quickly. He is the only newcomer who gets so used to the way I think of football – just offensive –
& # 39; He doesn't worry so much, but intuitively he does many things well. He clearly thinks a lot before the matches and thinks about what he should do and how the trainer is satisfied.
& # 39; He is not that stable in a back four.
& # 39; He has a juicy price tag. We first have to see what is in the wallet and whether the player and the selling club play a role. We will see it in the future. & # 39;
RB Leipzig reportedly has a £ 25 million option to sign Angelino permanently, but it seems that Manchester City has the right to increase the left back rating.
& # 39; One of the best strikers I've seen & # 39 ;: Pep Guardiola greets Jamie Vardy while the Manchester City boss insists the Leicester striker is there with Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero
Pep Guardiola has praised Jamie Vardy as & # 39; one of the best strikers & # 39; he saw.
Manchester City faces Leicester at King Power Stadium on Saturday night and Vardy has in the past proved to be a nuisance to Guardiola.
At his press conference prior to the game on Friday, asked why Vardy thrives against City, Guardiola said: "We play 40 meters in front so it's perfect for him."
& Vardy scores goals against us and all teams. Because even in the box and in the last third, he is one of the best attackers I have ever seen.
& # 39; Intensity and high pressure, many things he is an exceptional player. & # 39;
The Leicester striker has scored six goals in 10 games against City – only Liverpool and Arsenal have admitted Vardy more goals.
Guardiola has worked with Lionel Messi in Barcelona and Sergio Aguero in his state in City, so it was very much praised by the City boss.
The Spanish boss was also very enthusiastic about Leicester as a whole, who sits third in the Premier League table.
& # 39; I said before the home game how impressing I am (with Leicester).
& # 39; They have an incredible organization, good scouting, they know what to do.
& # 39; It's nice to see teams play like this. It is good for English football to have such managers. & # 39;
Paul Pogba finally returns to the Manchester United training base after the last stint of rehabilitation work in Dubai, as rigid star speeds recovery for run-in Premier League
- Paul Pogba is pictured entering the Manchester United training base
Midfielder had only 72 minutes of action by the first team since September
The Frenchman has only managed 71 minutes of football since he first picked up a recurring ankle problem in September, in what has become an injured season.
It comes after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said the Frenchman & # 39; not anywhere near & # 39; was a return to the training of the first team on Wednesday.
He was pictured as he entered the AON Carrington Training Complex of United after United returned from the 1-1 Europa League draw with Club Brugge in Belgium on Thursday evening.
Pogba aimed for a return to action in next month's Manchester derby, which last played on Boxing Day after an ankle operation in January.
Earlier this week it was reported that Pogba had to be assessed by the club's medical staff to measure his willingness to accelerate his recovery.
If the 26-year-old made a full return to training by the end of the month, he could put himself in the fight to play in the opposing city on March 8.
shared a video of his rehabilitation on his Instagram account after messages showed him last week that he was running and swimming.
Despite his injury problems, the future of Pogba in Old Traffor d is still very much in the air.
The club could be forced in the summer to sell the midfielder with long-term Real Madrid suitors worth no more than £ 50 million.
Pogba is also associated with a move back to Juventus, but they are also not expected to splash much without selling first.
Odion Ighalo ready to assist Anthony Martial in the attack of Manchester United when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer chooses to let him go against the old side Watford
Ighalo insists on a spot in the starting line-up of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and he is ready to help the team where his manager deems it necessary.
The Nigerian spoke after his 1-1 draw with Club Brugge in the Europa League and said that he played alongside Martial: & # 39; That is the coach's decision.
& # 39; My job is just to work hard every day in training and when I am asked to help the team, I do that.
& # 39; I have played in Premier League before, I know what is mandatory.
& # 39; I know you have to be very strong and physical, holding up balls for your team to get ahead, so I'm working towards that. I'm getting better and better. We have good players there.
& # 39; Unfortunately [Marcus] Rashford is injured, he is a good striker, sometimes he played from the side, so we have to deal with that. I am happy that when I have to do something, I am ready to go. & # 39;
Ighalo is already open to the idea of permanently drawing for United.
He added: & # 39; Of course [I would be willing to extend my stay] I should get the chance. & # 39;
Scott McTominay queuing for two-month return knee injury while Manchester United hosts Watford, confirms Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
The midfielder of Scotland is out of action since he sustained a knee injury against Newcastle on Boxing Day.
The absence of McTominay has hit United even harder because it coincided with the long-term injury discharge of [POTBAB26] Paul Pogba .
United relied heavily on Fred, Nemanja Matic and Andreas Pereira the defensive midfie ld positions, but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that McTominay could be back in the fold against Watford after resuming training at the club's warm weather stop in Marbella last week.
& # 39; I think he's in the team & # 39 ;, said Solskjaer after United's 1-1 Europa League match in Bruges. & # 39; He had a day off today so let's see what tomorrow is like.
& # 39; He is a physical copy. He is a leader, he never shakes a tackle and he takes everyone with him. He can sit with Nemanja or Fred, or he can be one of the runners in midfield.
& # 39; We were talking about that today, that we don't have that many runs beyond the rush hour. He was previously a striker, so he was used to being in the box. & # 39;
United wants to avenge a 2-0 defeat against Watford on Vicarage Road before Christmas, one of a number of defeats for teams in the lower half of the table.
& # 39; That was a very disappointing match, & # 39; Solskjaer added. & # 39; We should have won that. We gave them their two goals and had chances to clean up ourselves, but you can't win games if you don't take your chances. & # 39;
